Following the decision by the RCMP to reassign a member from the Integrated Criminal Investigation Unit from Weyburn Police Service, in 2016 the Weyburn Police Service partnered with Estevan Police Service in intergrating their respective investigative units.
Plain clothes member from both Weyburn Police Service and Estevan Police Service work together focusing on enforcement of the Controlled Drugs and Substance Act and related criminal activity within our respective city’s and rural areas. The integrated unit assists and works with other municipal, provincial, and federal law enforcement agencies involved in stopping illegal narcotics production and distribution. Officers receive special training, gaining effective skills in combating the “war on drugs.”
Weyburn Police Service and Estevan Police Service have successfully concluded major investigations very early in to their partnership and will continue to do so in the future.
